FAQS

  • Tattoo Honey is currently appointment only.

  • Unfortunately not— tattoo artists typically have so many clients to draw for each week, and it just wouldn't be realistic to go back and forth with everyone virtually. We do make sure to book plenty of extra time with each appointment though, in case we need to make small changes in person.

  • Definitely relax the night before and focus on getting some good sleep. Take care of your body-- stay hydrated and eat a hearty meal beforehand. Sometimes clients feel like they need to shave or prepare their skin beforehand, but that's not necessary (though moisturizing and exfoliating regularly does help!)

  • No tanning, no sunburning! Sunburns can take a few weeks to fully heal, and can’t be tattooed over. Avoid spray-tans as well since they will be wiped off when preparing your skin for the tattoo.

  • Definitely bring a valid ID or passport, and feel free to bring snacks, a drink, and maybe headphones in case you want to listen to your own music or an audiobook. For longer sessions some clients like to bring a pillow & blanket to get cozy, and we do keep extra small pillows, emergency snacks, and water at the studio as well.

  • Gabi happily accepts cash or card payments, though cards are subject to a 3% service fee. Guest artists are in charge of their own payments, so check with your artist to see what they prefer!

  • You can totally bring a calming friend or family member for support if you’d like! Please limit it to no more than one person though as the shop is fairly small, unless a group is getting tattooed.

  • Due to new info from the FDA, we can no longer recommend the use of numbing cream.

Working through the pain naturally can be a grounding experience and add to the magic of getting tattooed. If you're worried about pain or overstimulation, Tylenol (which doesn't affect blood clotting), meditation techniques, and the occasional Bactine break (which we happily provide) work very consistently. Tattoo Honey is also a very calming and quiet space to get tattooed in, and if you feel uncomfortable at any point please let your artist know!

  • Blood-thinners, antibiotics, and Accutane are some that you want to stay away from, as they can affect the process and healing of a tattoo. If you have to be on antibiotics for whatever reason around the time of your appointment, reach out and we can reschedule. For any other medication, ask your doctor!
